August 3rd 2022 This day was the Canramblers annual Mt. Douglas Park picnic and walk. Peter lead the group through a trail on the mountain for a 45 minute walk and then we settled on one of the large picnic tables under the maple trees for a no-host picnic. August 10th 2022 This walk was at Island View Beach. The group walked to the south, (heading right as you step onto the beach) this time because the tide was very low. August 17th 2022 A visit to Coles Bay regional park The walk this day was out in North Saanich at the Coles Bay regional park. A fairly small but very scenic park on the west side of the peninsula. not too many trails, but lots of picnic table space and parking. There are two access points to the beach, one of them is a stone staircase that is accessible from the end of a short cul de sac. The other is from a short trail through through the park. August 24th 2022 We walked the Gowland - Tod Provincial Park trail to Saanich Inlet and back and then lunched at the Prairie Inn. This park is the site of a historic cement processing plant that turned the limestone from the quarry in what is now Buchart's Gardens into cement. September 14th 2022 A day trip to Port Angeles and Hurricane Ridge Some of the walking group caught the MV Coho from Victoria harbour to Port Angeles, and then got on a tour bus for a drive up to Hurricane Ridge which is in the Olympic Peninsula Park.
