August 2nd 2023 Walking the West Bay Walkway from Spinnakers - The group started on this walk from near the Spinnakers Brewpub and walked all the way to the West Bay Marina. August 23rd. 2023 This walk started on Lochside in the parking area and followed the Lochside trail to a path that leads to the left to the lakehill neighbourhood. The walkers went through Ambassador Park and on to Beckwith park. Then they turned around and headed back to the Monkey Tree Pub for lunch. August 30th 2023 This day was the walking group's annual picnic to celebrate the end of summer. We met at Mt. Douglas Park and while most of the group walked the Irvine Trail loop a couple of us saved the large picnic table under the maple trees. Dave made his famous chocolate chip cookies with a touch of orange zest, and they were delicious as usual. September 13 2023 A tour of the Canadian Naval Museum at Esquimalt. Dave Freeman led us on a walking tour of the museum and talked about the exhibits and the history of the Canadian Navy from it's beginnings of the Royal navy and through both World Wars. We later went to the 4 Mile Pub for lunch. Claudia's took many photos, and they will appear here someday.

October 4th 2023 A walk at part of the Whitty's lagoon Regional Park This time the group went to Metchosin for a walk along part of the trails in this park. October 11th 2023 A walk around the grounds of Royal Roads College. the group parked near John Stubs elementary School and walked into the grounds of Royal Roads from there. A relative level way to get to the castle and grounds without the long hills and driveway. After a rainy walkabout in the grounds the group went to Hardy's Bar and Grill for lunch in Colwood. October 18th 2023 A walk around Downtown Victoria The group met at the Victoria International marina in the inner harbour and walked across the bridge into downtown Victoria for about a half hour, then turned around and walked back to Spinnakers where they had lunch together.
